We are so glad that you are considering admission to Ambleside School of Waco for your child. After you have explored our website and asked any questions of our staff, we warmly welcome you to apply.

STEP ONE: Fill Out an Application

K-7th Grade Applicants: Click here to access the Ambleside School of Waco application. Please note, if completing an application for a student entering 7th grade, an additional requirement includes student essay questions contained within the application.

  • An application fee of $150 per student is due upon submission of a student application, payable directly to the school: ASW Student Fee Portal

STEP TWO: Gather Forms for Submission

You will be asked to submit supplemental forms to our school office. These forms include the following:

  • Consent for Release of Student Information from your child’s current school
  • A Teacher/Administration Reference Report (for children entering 5th and above) completed by your child’s current teacher or an adult who has worked with your child over a period of time in a group learning situation (if homeschooled).
  • Your child’s immunization record, medical exemption form, or conscientious exemption form.

STEP THREE: Student Assessment

You will receive confirmation via email as you submit each of the above requirements. Once we receive all required documentation mentioned in Step 2 above, we will work with you to schedule a student assessment at the school.

  • A student assessment fee of $50 per student is due in order to schedule a student assessment, payable directly to the school: ASW Student Fee Portal

STEP FOUR: Required Readings

Purchase required reading for parents applying for admission (available online at Amazon or other booksellers):

In addition, please read these foundational Ambleside resources:

STEP FIVE: Parent Interview

Following the student assessment, you will be contacted to schedule a parent interview. During this time, we will discuss the required readings, provide feedback on the student assessment, and answer any remaining questions you might have. We ask that both parents (or legal guardians) participate in the interview if at all possible.

Please note, if completing an application for a student entering 7th grade, a student meeting with an administrator during the parent interview will be conducted as well.

DECISION AND ENROLLMENT

Following completion of the above steps, a letter of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent out from school administration. Enrollment decisions will be considered based on space availability in our classrooms and optimal classroom mix. If a particular class becomes full, accepted students may be placed on a waiting list if parents choose to pursue this option.

If accepted, you can secure your child’s space by returning the signed enrollment contract, which will accompany your acceptance letter, along with a $1,000 enrollment deposit per student, which will officially hold a seat in an Ambleside classroom for your child. This enrollment deposit becomes non-refundable beginning March 1. This enrollment deposit will be applied to tuition for the upcoming year and is not a fee.

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY: Ambleside School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Ambleside School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, sex, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, hiring policies, scholarship and financial aid programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
