We are so glad that you are considering admission to Ambleside School of Waco for your child. After you have explored our website and asked any questions of our staff, we warmly welcome you to apply.
STEP ONE: Fill Out Application Form
Grades K-8: Click here to access the Ambleside School of Waco application form.
STEP TWO: Prepare to Submit Forms
You will be asked to submit supplemental forms to our mailing address. These forms include the following:
- Consent for Release of Student Information from your child’s current school
- A Teacher/Administration Reference Report (for children in grades 7-8) completed by your child’s current teacher, or an adult who has worked with your child over a period of time in a group situation (if home schooled).
- Your child’s immunization record or conscientious exemption form.
- An application fee of $150 per student (please contact us for payment instructions).
STEP THREE: Assessment
You will receive confirmation via email as you submit each of the above requirements. Once we receive all required documentation mentioned in Step 2 above, we will work with you to schedule a student assessment at the school.
STEP FOUR: Reading
Purchase required reading for parents (available online at Amazon or other booksellers):
For the Children’s Sake, by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay
Escaping the Endless Adolescence by Allen & Allen (for parents of students in 7th grade and up)
In addition, please read:
The Ambleside Guiding Principles
The Ambleside School of Waco Parent/Student Handbook (coming soon)
STEP FIVE: Parent Interview
Following the student assessment, you will be contacted to schedule a parent interview, during which time we will discuss the required reading, provide feedback on the student assessment, and answer any remaining questions. We ask that both parents (or legal guardians) participate in the interview.
*If completing an application toward 7th grade and above, additional requirements include student essay questions and a student meeting with the principal during the parent interview.
DECISION AND ENROLLMENT
Following completion of the above, letters of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent out. Qualified applicants will be considered based on space availability and optimal classroom mix. If a particular class fills, accepted students may be placed in a Wait Pool and parents will be informed.
If accepted, secure your child’s space by returning the signed enrollment agreement, which will accompany your acceptance letter, along with the $1000 non-refundable enrollment deposit per student, which will be applied to tuition for the upcoming year.
